About the Author
B.R.Mehta is Senior Vice President with Reliance Industries Ltd., Mumbai. He has over 41 years’ experience in the refinery and petrochemicals industry. He has worked on control systems and instrumentation engineering projects for Patalganga, Hazira, and Jamnagar Refinery & Petrochemicals during his 22+ years with Reliance Industries. Prior to joining Reliance, he worked for Agro-Chemical & Food Co., Kenya as Chief Instrumentation Engineer and for Indian Petrochemicals Ltd., Vadodara for 11 years as Instrument Engineer.

He is currently heading the design & engineering department for control systems & instrumentation. During his career he has worked with many overseas licensors, including U.O.P, Foster Wheeler , ICI, Union Carbide , Du Pont , Stork and Stone & Webster. He has also worked with engineering contractors Bechtel, John Brown , Lummus , Jecobs H & G , Lucky Engineering, Chemtex , Worley, and Aker Kvaerne. He has worked on basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, inspection, expediting, construction, testing, pre-commissioning & commissioning of various petrochemicals, chemicals, co-generation power & refinery projects from concept to Commissioning.

Dr. Y. Jaganmohan Reddy, has 18 years of experience in the field of industrial automation and control as a Senior Architect, Systems engineer, Project engineer, Test engineer, Maintenance engineer, and has also worked for Pre and Post sales support in industrial instrumentation, control and automation solutions. He graduated with a degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in 1997 from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Kakatiya University, Warangal and has a Masters in Software Systems in 2004 from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, and got his Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JNTUK, Kakinada. Earlier in his career he worked for JOCIL Ltd, a subsidiary of The Andhra Sugars Limited as an engineer (Instrumentation), responsible for maintenance and project activities of the instrumentation and Control Engineering. He is currently working as a senior architect in Natural Gas Measurement and Monitoring Systems in HTS Lab Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad.
Dr Reddy has published 26 research papers in various International/National journals and conferences and has authored two books on microgrids. He is a member of ISA, IETE and a Certified Automation Professional (CAP) and Systems Engineering Professional, and his research areas include Industrial automation, Power systems, Energy management systems, Instrumentation, and control systems.

This is a tough read. The author(s) appear to have written in one language and edited the book using software like a cell phone auto correct. The errors in grammar, spelling and culture make purchasing this book a mistake.

About the Author
Parallel to an international law career in Germany, Switzerland and the United States, Dr. Peter Fritz Walter (Pierre) focused upon fine art, cookery, astrology, musical performance, social sciences and humanities. He started writing essays as an adolescent and received a high school award for creative writing and editorial work for the school magazine. After finalizing his law diplomas, he graduated with an LL.M. in European Integration at Saarland University, Germany, and with a Doctor of Law title from University of Geneva, Switzerland, in 1987. He then took courses in psychology at the University of Geneva and interviewed a number of psychotherapists in Lausanne and Geneva, Switzerland. His interest was intensified through a hypnotherapy with an Ericksonian American hypnotherapist in Lausanne. This led him to the recovery and healing of his inner child. In 1986, he met the late French psychotherapist and child psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto (1908-1988) in Paris and interviewed her. A long correspondence followed up to their encounter which was considered by the curators of the Dolto Trust interesting enough to be published in a book alongside all of Dolto’s other letter exchanges by Gallimard Publishers in Paris, in 2005. After a second career as a corporate trainer and personal coach, Pierre retired as a full-time writer, philosopher and consultant. His nonfiction books emphasize a systemic, holistic, cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspective, while his fiction works and short stories focus upon education, philosophy, perennial wisdom, and the poetic formulation of an integrative worldview. Pierre is a German-French bilingual native speaker and writes English as his 4th language after German, Latin and French. He also reads source literature for his research works in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch. In addition, Pierre has notions of Thai, Khmer, Chinese and Japanese. I love the way it's laid out and I love the ...

I am 32 years old and after a miscarriage in December I was recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and agoraphobia (due to a major hormonal inbalance, I believe). Even with all the medication I am on and weekly visits to my therapist, this book has helped me the most. I love the way it's laid out and I love the worksheets but this book would still be very useful even without using the worksheets. It's not as much of a "workbook" as I thought it would. It's so much better. If you have struggled with anxiety, panic attacks and phobias BUY THIS BOOK.

This is the best book to work through anxiety issues using cognitive behavioral therapy. I found it to be very helpful years ago when I suffered from agoraphobia. Techniques really work, information about the physical characteristics of anxiety/panic attacks put my mind at ease. I purchased this for a friend who is in a similar circumstance. I recommend this book highly.

A smooth and entertaining read. It's engaging, entertaining and definitely not lacking any of the humor it promises. If you're looking for a book with vital footnotes and just the right mix of theorems and tall tales, then I definitely recommend this book. Oh, and you learn about number theory.

Funnest. math. book. ever.

I can't think of any math book that is more fun to read than this one. In fact, I'm having trouble thinking of a book that's this fun to read, period. I read it with a big grin on my face and genuinely laughed out loud at times.

But it's not just for laffs: there's a lot of genuine mathematics in this book. Wright doesn't go deep into any particular topic, but at the level he does attempt to explain things, he succeeds beautifully. For example, this book contains the clearest, most accessible explanation of what the Birch-Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture (one of the famous Millennium Problems) is that I've seen.

I remember years ago reading a blurb regarding Dave Barry: "Mr. Barry is the funniest man in America and we should encourage him." I want to say something similar: Tom Wright is the funniest man in mathematics and we should encourage him. Buy this book, read it, and hope he writes more.

Not as good as the Kindergarten version

After purchasing the Carson-Dellosa Phonics for Kindergarten, which was just what I was looking for, I was excited to get my son into this First Grade version. However, it was something of a disappointment. Not nearly as visually appealing, and required reading that most First Graders starting out aren't able to do. It felt like they skipped around too much instead of solidly approaching word sounds and vowels in a logical way. Since I was homeschooling at the time, I ended up getting most of my son's phonics assignments from worksheets I found on the internet instead of using everything in the book. The book needs to be better thought out.

Rewarding

I had used the book for kindergarten and saw a significant improvement in pronunciation and word recognition, hence my purchase. I will keep coming back to these books because of the overall improvement in my son's reading. No matter where we are he will attempt to sound words out and he loves the reward of the gold stars. It is one of my many go to books in fostering a life long love of reading.
