The majority of the book covers materials, tools, and techniques, with a nice overview^B of the evolution of ceramics as an art form in the twentieth century. Readers will find a rich array of artists and styles throughout the text and illustrations, inspiring them to explore beyond the book. As the author states repeatedly, instruction and description are limited, given the breadth of the subject. What is covered, such concepts as melting point, plasticity, hardness, porosity, and shrinkage, is clearly illustrated. Ceramic instruction from a book is difficult, but Ros i Frigola does an admirable job explaining basic techniques. With lush photographs, Ros i Frigola's purpose--to inspire--is apparent. Readers, beginning or more experienced (the latter looking for a better understanding of the ways this medium can be used for artistic expression), will find edification. Jennifer Palmer

I found this to be a good reference book providing information about a wide array of ceramic topics. It does not dig deeply into subject matters but gives enough info to answer questions and help get you started. Also great background info on things from clay to historical topics

Must book for any web developer

I know words like "TCP" and "sockets" sound so computer sciency. And they scare me. That's why I did not learn much about it . Until I found this book.

Author has done an amazing job describing in simple terms what it all means. And once you understand the basic fundamental blocks then you are ready to be more receptive to other discussions in the field of "sockets".

The examples use ruby code. But you do not need to know ruby to understand it all. First of all ruby is very english like language. Secondly author has not used features of ruby for which you need to know ruby before hand. In fact ruby helps here because it cuts out all the boilerplate code and you can get to the meat of it .

I am new to ruby and even newer to sockets programming. This book helped me understand the server/client model better and know more about the Ruby's standard library for TCP socket.

Jesse explains how sockets work with Ruby implementations in the book. It helps a lot to clarify the fundamental concepts of the socket programming and provides good examples if you need to build things from scratch or read others' gem.

A seemingly esoteric subject explained well.

This book is written for medical professionals, but it is understandable if you take your time and have a good medical dictionary with you. The subject is way to important for people concerned with their health, not to have a handle on. This is a huge risk factor for coronary events, and quite likely, more decisive as a predictive factor than cholesterol. There are ways discussed that would help you monitor your risk and improve your profile. Highly recommended for those motivated enough to want to know.

Iron Can Kill You

Everyone should have this informative book on the dangers of iron in your diet. The world in general is getting too much iron and needs to know more about it whether they have Hemocromatosis or not. I have purchased copies of this book, which can be purchased so cheaply at Amazon,for my whole family since my son died of Hemochromatosis, a disease of iron overload.

Great book to start learning about iron overload

Ever since i began switching to organic food, I began questioning the need for "reduced iron" in fortified foods and whether they were actually harmful with daily consumption...especially now with most omnivores consuming more than the RDA for iron in addition to iron rich meats regularly. It was the scarcity of meat for soldiers which led to the fortification of grain/processed food and carried over to the general population. This practice continues today without review of the efficacy or safety of iron fortification. While Dr. Weinberg doesn't approach this topic and its possible contribution to iron disorders, a big over site, he does provide some interesting connections to chronic diseases and iron disorders.

The Dr. Weinberg presents some great informational statistics, but the statistics don't quite connect the dots for me. What would be interesting is to see some cross-over studies regarding the "Eat Right for your Blood Type" (Dr. D'Adamo) and the findings that see if there is a relationship between blood type and iron metabolism disorders. Many of the iron metabolism disorders seem to be genetically identifiable as Weinberg indicates throughout his book, and blood type is also a genetic trait. Combining these two areas of studies may shore up the statistical findings and provide more understanding and therefore, better dietary modifications specific to iron needs according to blood type/genetics.

Other than the questions that this book left me with, it is a great place to start learning about iron disorders.

I have really enjoyed this product. I have had no issues with it and have found everything to be great about it.
When I purchased this item it arrived brand new and in fantastic condition. It was packaged neatly and arrived in a timely fashion. I love prime shipping as I always get my products on time and they are packaged super nice so you never have to worry about if your product will be good or not.
This really takes the worry out of buying products like this at a discount from amazon. When I got this product I was very pleased and excited to use it. I can tell you that I still use this to this day and remained pleased with it. If ever this product breaks (which I doubt because of the high quality) I will be purchasing another of the same to replace it.
When a customer is not only willing but wanting to come back to the same product over and over again because they are so pleased that really says how great the product is. The price of this and the quality do not go together and the price is much lower compared to the quality of the product. I would recommend this product to anyone looking who may be curious if this is really what they need or not. I have been very pleased by it and I think you will be too. There is negative comments or concerns about this product that I can mention.
